ST. VALENTINE'S DAY

.... a very old, popular and romantic holiday, St. Valentine's day. One of the characters we often see on Valentine's Day is Cupid.  He shoots (стрелять) people with his arrows (стрелы) of love. People celebrate Valentine's Day in late winter on February the 14th. Men and women who are in love exchange gifts. The most popular gifts are flowers (especially roses) and chocolates. Before the holiday people do a lot of shopping. On this day couples ['kʌplz]  go to a restaurant for a very nice dinner. In the USA on Valentine's Day children make special Valentine's cards for their classmates. Families and friends may offer candy or other small gifts to each other. It can be a fun day......
Thanksgiving day

......a popular and important holiday, Thanksgiving day. On this day  all Americans get together in their homes to say "thank you" for their harvest and for the food they eat. 
Thanksgiving Day is always on the fourth Thursday in November. It is a national holiday. The Americans eat a lot of food at Thanksgiving. They usually make traditional turkey with potatoes, corn and lots of delicious pumpkin pie. Some people even call Thanksgiving day Turkey day. After dinner many American families watch an American foolball game on TV. Also many people watch The Macy’s Day Parade, where you can see clowns performing brilliant tricks......
