Случаи употребления окончания - ES

1.  глаголы, оканчивающиеся на -о.  Чаще всего do и go 

Sam goes to the gym every week.
Catherine does her homework very carefully.
My grandpa always goes fishing alone.

2. глаголы, оканчивающиеся на s, z, x, ch, tch, sh.

Ann teaches English to Chinese children.
His secretary faxes us every morning.
Jim always passes exams easily.
Dad washes his car twice a month.

3. глаголы, оканчивающиеся на -у 
Если перед -у стоит гласная буква (play), то мы просто добавляем окончание -s.

Steve plays chess with his grandfather.
My dog enjoys long walks.
Mom says that she is not tired.

Но если перед -у стоит согласная буква (study), то -y мы поменяем на -i и прибавим -es.

Jenny denies eating ice-cream before dinner.
My friends’ son cries all the time, he is just a baby.
My parrot flies very fast, I can’t catch it!
 

4.не стоит забывать и о глаголах to have и to be. У них формы 3 лица ед.ч. особенные.
    
Mom has many beautiful dresses.
She is never tired of shopping.

Во всех остальных случаях к начальной форме глагола мы добавляем окончание -s.
